Job DescriptionCEDA is looking for an Intermediate Buyer to join our Supply Chain team on a 12 month term. This position will work alongside suppliers and internal customers to fulfill requirements of CEDA using proper procurement processes. This is a 12-month temporary position.
This position is based out of our Edmonton office. This is an ideal position for someone who is customer service focused, a whiz at data entry and passionate about supply chain, apply now!

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Purchase goods, services and rentals in the most efficient and cost effective manner
- Issue and expedite all purchases to meet the established service level requirements
- Source products and services in the market place
- Act as a resource to internal stakeholders providing advice and guidance on CEDA's purchasing policies, procedures and processes
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with suppliers as well as internal customers
- Work within negotiated national agreements where possible
- Participate in the non-conformance reporting (NCR) system and corrective & preventive action system. Identify the necessary actions to prevent occurrence or reoccurrence of nonconformities
- Participate in procurement initiatives to improve proficiency and productivity
- Process and maintain organized paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
Role Specifications:
- 3+ years of purchasing experience is required
- Experience in purchasing in the industrial industry sector is an asset
- Knowledge in procuring goods, services and rentals is required
- Completed a Business Management Diploma or equivalent with some course work in Supply Chain (such as SCMP designation or SMT Diploma) is required
- A basic understanding of business processes, methodologies and information systems related to supply chain is required
- Experience with ERP system such as SAP or JD Edwards is required; experience with Microsoft AX would be considered an asset
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills; you have no issue advising on procedures or processes
- When faced with a complex situation you enjoy putting all the pieces together finding the best solution to accomplish what needs to be done
- In tune to your personal abilities and limitations, you know when to ask for help and are accountable to what you are and are not able to complete in your day
- Excellent ability to foster positive working relationships with suppliers and internal customers while representing the company's best interest
