- Job Title: Licensed Electrician
- Location: Mississauga
- Shifts: Mon-Friday (Rotating weekly), Tuesday- Saturday (Day shift), Weekend Shift Monday, Saturday & Sunday. (Able to work any of these schedule as per the business needs).
- Wage Rate:$43.49/hr
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment as per company's quality policy.
Job Duties:
- Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors, programmable controllers, transformers, voltage regulators, and machinery wiring; following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
- Installs new machines and equipment by installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment, using hand tools and test equipment. Program automated machinery.
- Required to maintain documentation in maintenance work order system
- Repairs and replace as necessary electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures; determining faulty wiring, inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine electrical preventive maintenance plans
- Prepares electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Make recommendations as necessary for improvements.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending education workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results and other sundries duties as assigned.
- Maintain documentation as required by Hydro Electric
- Maintain an adequate supply of parts as required
- Perform quality checks on all work performed
- Follow all ISO and HACCP requirements and procedures
Safety Responsibility and Accountability:
- Follow equipment specific physical lock out tag out procedure
- Mobile equipment operator to ensure daily operator checklist is completed after use. I.e. Clamp truck, Forklift, Elevated work platforms.
- Report all hazards / problems to your Supervisor when they occur.
- Other available tools are when hazard rating is low.
- Pre-use inspection form
- Use Manager plus and place a work request
- Use of hazard reporting form
- Report injury / incident to your Supervisor immediately
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and Good housekeeping practices.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) – Gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, Hi- viz vest in Shipping/warehouse. Bump Cap at ALL times.
- Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company
- Keep fire equipment and exits clear all time
- Zero Tolerance - Workplace Violence and Harassment: Refer to the policy posted on the H&S board.
- Must hold a current Industrial Electrician 442A Certification, Will consider 309A based on job experience.
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a manufacturing industry
- Experience in paper and packaging industry an asset
- Knowledge of PLC's, wiring, legislated standards
- Elevated Work Platform (Working at Heights) Certification
- Troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees
