At Callidus Engineering, youll work on a wide range of multi-unit residential developmentsfrom new mid-rise and high-rise buildings to major system upgrades in existing condominiums and co-opsdesigning systems that keep residents safe, comfortable, and energy efficient.

Your Role Includes

  • Reviewing and stamping mechanical projects of all complexities and sizes
  • Directing design strategies and concepts on complex projects
  • Providing technical expertise within the mechanical team
  • Leading audits, feasibility assessments, and investigations, and writing corresponding reports
  • Mentoring intermediate and junior-level engineers and designers
  • Troubleshooting construction issues and collaborating on solutions
  • Communicating with clients, contractors, and sales reps, preparing project documentation, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines
  • Conducting site visits, reviews, and construction phase services

What You Bring to the Team

  • Design experience with central plant systems, including hot water, steam, and chilled water systems
  • Significant exposure to DDC control systems, including writing sequences of operations, specifications, and troubleshooting on-site control issues
  • Extensive knowledge of codes and standards, including OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards
  • Design experience across multiple industries, including commercial, industrial, educational, multi-unit residential, healthcare, and government
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to organize, multitask, and work well under deadlines
  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to share ideas
  • A track record of sound judgment and decision-making

Your Background & Qualifications

  • Professional engineering license in Ontario with 10+ years of design experience in the building construction industry and at least 5 years in Canada
  • Extensive design experience in multi-unit residential projects
  • An effective communicator who thrives in a team setting
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on delivering high-quality work
  • A desire to contribute to a collaborative and professional environment
