The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is a nonprofit organization that provides technical advisory services, training, and capacity development to First Nations communities in Ontario. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Circuit Rider Trainer Program (CRTP) Supervisor to join our team at OFNTSC. Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, the CRTP Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CRTP portfolio, including the coordination and scheduling of work plans of all Circuit Rider Trainers and Circuit Rider Trainer administration staff. This position requiresbeing responsible for providing direction and assisting the Circuit Rider Trainers with planning, organizing, and delivering the CRTP to Water and Wastewater Treatment Plan Operators to First Nations throughout the Province of Ontario.

These tasks must be executed in alignment with the culture and values of OFNTSC while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CRTP portfolio, including coordinating and scheduling the work plans of all CRTP Trainers and the CRTP administration staff.
  • Maintain filing system in accordance with office file and records management procedures.
  • Submit weekly/monthly schedules to the Director of Operations.
  • Assist with OFNTSC conference related activities.
  • Provide direction and assist the Circuit Rider Trainers with planning, organizing and delivering the Circuit Rider Training Program for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators to First Nations throughout the Province of Ontario.
  • Provide direction, support and assist the Circuit Rider Trainers in developing functional operational and maintenance work plans for Water & Wastewater Treatment Systems.
  • Assist Circuit Rider Trainers in teaching First Nation Water Treatment Plant operators the required reporting procedures.
  • Troubleshoot with Circuit Rider Trainers and First Nation clientele.
  • Assist Circuit Rider Trainers and OFNTSC Engineers in the review of new project designs, feasibility studies and design proposals to suggest equipment and operating features to be incorporated in the design and rate the performance of new equipment after installation and provide recommendations where meaningful improvements are identified.
  • Oversee and coordinate follow up site visits to First Nation communities who have participated in the OFNTSC Circuit Rider Training Program.
  • Promotes the OFNTSC Circuit Rider Training Program. Ensures that activity reports are generated for the Director of Operations that reflect both the planned and actual activities of the corporation.
  • Supports the Director of Operations where appropriate, with tracking of reporting requirements to ensure that appropriate deadlines are being met.
  • Provides monthly reports as directed by the Director of Operations.
  • Review and maintain the CRTP project schedule and project budget.
  • Manage personal travel budget.
  • Report and obtain prior approval for financial activities from the Director of Operations.
  • Provide First Nation communities with the skills and expertise necessary to manage technical training.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in a relevant field and minimum 5 years related experience an asset.

Supervisory or managerial experience is required.

Sensitivity to the unique needs of First Nations peoples.

Province of Ontario Class II Water & Wastewater accreditations/licenses.

Maintain proper certification and membership through recognized training authorities.

Acquire ongoing education to meet OFNTSC minimal skill requirements.

Effective communication skills (meetings, oral and written) with various professionals.

Strong Organizational Skills to multi-task and prioritize projects and various tasks.

Conditions:

Reliable, insured vehicle and Valid Class G Ontario drivers license.

Extensive traveling required through the Province of Ontario
