Century Transportation Ltd. is looking for passionate and experienced drivers to join our Training and Safety team in the role of a Driver Trainer at our Peterborough and Whitby locations. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess superior leadership skills in the training and development of our professional drivers. A high attention to detail, exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, and a focus on the continuous improvement of safe driving skills and customer service are key to success in this role.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- 3 years' experience as a School Bus Driver with a class B license preferred; will consider no less than 2 years' experience
- Clear driver's abstract
- Proficiency with computers and tablets
- Able to complete a one-week Professional Instructor in Driver Education (PRIDE) training course in Burlington (course fees, accommodation and time paid for by Century)
- Significant skills dealing effectively with the public, including demonstrating skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and sound decision-making in positions providing customer service
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- A team player who can also work independently when required
Responsibilities:
- Conduct training sessions and evaluations for new and experienced drivers
- Ride along with new drivers to assess their skills and provide constructive feedback
- Completion of driver training records using a tablet-based platform
- Perform regular evaluations to ensure safety and performance standards are consistently met
- Uphold and model the highest safety standards in both driving and instruction
- Create lesson plans and deliver other training programs as required
- Monitor skills of the operations during regular duties as an operator and coach to improve driving skills
Working Conditions:
- Part-time hours typically working 15 – 20 hours per week in between your school runs
- Hours fluctuate based on training volume, with August to October being our busiest period for training
