Overview
The Dealer is responsible for dealing all assigned games, in accordance with the position category as defined below:
- The Dealer 1 position requires dealing Blackjack (including variations of Blackjack) and all Novelty Games.
- The Dealer 2 position requires meeting the requirements of the Dealer 1 position and of one (1) Core Game.
- The Dealer 3 position requires meeting the requirements of the Dealer 2 position and one (1) of the additional Core Game.
- The Dealer 4 position requires meeting the requirements of the Dealer 3 position and one (1) of the additional Core Game.
Novelty Games are defined as:
- Any game for which the Employee requires four (4) hours of training or less and includes 3 Card Poker, Let It Ride, Pai Gow Poker, Casino War, Mississippi Stud, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Sic Bo and any additional novelty games.
Core Games are defined as:
- Any game for which the Employee requires more than four (4) hours of training and includes Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat and Poker.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for dealing an assigned game in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Complies with all departmental and Company Policies including business ethics guidelines and all regulatory requirements.
- Offers the highest possible level of Guest service resulting in a maximum level of customer enjoyment and return play.
- Maintains a work environment that is safe, professional, friendly and conducive to a high level of productivity & performance, as well as morale.
- Works diligently to support the Company's culture and team philosophy throughout the property.
- Amicably resolves customer related problems in a fast paced environment.
- Ensures the confidentiality and protection of each Guest's personal information, including rewards, credit lines, win/loss and playing habits.
- Maintains confidentiality of all Company proprietary information including business processes, customer lists, marketing plans and any other confidential information.
- Performs the functions of a Dealer on an assigned shift.
- Act as a role model to all Team Members and always present oneself as a credit to the Hard Rock Brand.
- Promote positive public relations and create an enjoyable atmosphere for all.
Qualifications
Each candidate must:
- Pass a basic math assessment.
- Successfully complete an interview.
- Successfully complete Table Games auditions for all required games.
- Demonstrate exceptional guest service skills including a positive demeanor and calm, steady temperament.
- Demonstrate and maintain strong ethical standards at all times.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in a second language (French) is preferred.
- Obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
SKILLS
- Must possess excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Must offer the highest possible level of guest service resulting in a maximum level of player enjoyment and return play.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English is essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Duties and responsibilities are performed on the casino floor in a fast-paced environment, with constant exposure to the general public and excessive noise.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to perform repetitive procedures and handle gaming equipment; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
