Concrete Lead Hand - Port Hawkesbury, NS
We are currently looking to hire a Concrete Lead Hand to join our team who lives within commuting distance to the Port Hawkesbury, NS area. Experience working with concrete strongly preferred, however any construction experience may be an asset. Personal transportation to the work site is required.

Requirements:
Previous experience as a Construction Labourer and/or Lead Hand, experience in concrete preferred.
Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
Physically able to lift 50lbs.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions.
Valid class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Thoroughly inspect tools and equipment daily.
Participate in safety conscious activities such as tailgate meetings every morning.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all rules and regulations set forward by Foreman.
Train and mentor new labourers in best practices and techniques.
Assist Foreman in supervising and coordinating the work of your crew.
Perform a large variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.

Demolition of concrete in need of repair.
Preparing surfaces for concrete placement.
Building, installing and removing concrete forms.
Mixing, pouring and spreading concrete.
Applying hardening and sealing compounds to concrete.
