LOCATION: Initial Placement – Burford Administration Office
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two-year Post-Secondary School education in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year work experience
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including report writing and presentations
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills that are resolution oriented
- Ability to interpret applicable legislation
- Demonstrated surveying skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Dedicated to a high degree of professionalism and setting standards of excellence
- Ability to organize work and resources in a fast paced team environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ArcGIS Pro
- Valid drivers license and provision of own vehicle and acceptable Driver's Abstract
- Experience in a municipal environment
- Experience in civil construction inspection and surveying
- Professional Designation ( C.TECH or CET) or ability to obtain within 1 to 3 years
- On-site inspection and supervision of municipal infrastructure projects, in accordance with County policies, plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed design drawings for various municipal projects in CAD using Civil 3D.
- Assist with the preparation of tenders and requests for quotations.
- Provides technical assistance to various personnel regarding the departmental work plan and programs, including, but not limited to:
- CAD design using Civil 3D in accordance with County Standards and Specifications
- Monitoring and reporting on project timelines and budgets
- Attend public meetings to discuss project details with affected property owners
- Ensuring regulatory Health and Safety practices are followed and adhered to
- Provides assistance for the coordination of permits and surveys, including but not limited to, the oversight of consultants and issuance of Public Works Permits
- Assists others in the preparation of written reports pertaining to municipal contacts and government bodies, ie. MECP, Council Committees (may include background for work plans and budgets)
- Assist with Tangible Capital Assets submissions to the Finance Department pertaining to municipal infrastructure along with GIS maintenance and assigned asset management tasks.
- Assist with research, ie, interpreting, analyzing and implementing legislative requirements, committee reports, etc.
- Assist senior staff with collection of data required for updating and maintaining the County's asset management inventory
- Assist with topographic survey of projects.
- Other duties as assigned
Annual Salary Range - $62,863 - $73,541 (Job Grade 4) 35 hours per week
