Water/Wastewater Engineer
First Nations Technical Services Advisory Group Inc. (TSAG) is seeking to employ a full time Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Technical Services Circuit Rider Training Program team. We are based in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Water/Wastewater Engineer will work with our TSAG team and our Alberta First Nations todeliver front-line water and wastewater treatment, water distribution, water storage, and water pumping systems; wastewater collection, wastewater pumping facilities and wastewater disposal systems; thereby fostering stronger, more resilient communities for First Nations residents to thrive, work, and enjoy life.

You can Expect to:
- Oversee all phases of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, providing technical and project leadership from planning through implementation.
- Mentor and support engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering effective, high-quality solutions.
- Apply innovative engineering practices to design and develop efficient, sustainable water and wastewater systems.
- Assess project risks and implement proactive strategies to address technical and logistical challenges.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, cost-effective project delivery.
Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and membership with APEGA
Minimum of 7 years of experience in municipal engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in construction observation and contract administration
Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection systems
Proficiency in computer software for modelling and spreadsheet analysis.
Demonstrated aptitude for general construction methods.
Strong business acumen and understanding of First Nation infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere.
Self-motivated with leadership skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Valid Alberta drivers license.
Responsibilities:
Assist with water and wastewater projects from inception through to completion and implementation as required.
Assist with design, construction site inspections, and contract deliverable duties, as required.
Develop and review engineering design drawings, specifications, as required.
Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Liaise with clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Provide leadership and mentorship and support to infrastructure team and First Nation stakeholders.
Ability to travel extensively throughout the Province of Alberta
