Custom Castings Ltd. is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Tool & Die Maker. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain the life of molds, jigs, and fixtures while producing high-quality tools and machined components through the use of CNC and manual equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with advanced technical skills and a passion for precision machining.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, maintain, and repair tooling and their components to ensure optimal performance.
- Program, set up, and operate various CNC and manual equipment.
- Implement preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for tooling issues.
- Engineer and produce new molds, jigs, and fixtures based on engineering specifications.
- Document tooling modifications and repairs accurately for traceability.
- Foster positive relationships with supervisors and colleagues to enhance team collaboration.
- Maintain an organized and safe workstation in compliance with 5S principles.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and manual machining.
- Red Seal certification as a Machinist or Toolmaker (or working towards certification).
- Ability to work with CAM software or willingness and ability to learn it.
- MasterCAM experience considered an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills.
- Proficiency with manual lathe, mill, and other shop equipment.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and root cause analysis.
- Basic email and MS Office skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Recent graduates with relevant education are encouraged to apply.
