Job Title: Controller (Full-Time, In-Office)

Location:Mississauga, ON (Near Pearson Airport)

Salary $90-$110,000 a year + 3 weeks vacation

We are currently seeking a reliable and experiencedControllerto join our construction client. This is afull-time, permanent, in-officeposition based in Mississauga. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in managing financial reporting and oversight, and will be supported by an in-house Bookkeeper.

About the Role

As the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial records, leading the preparation of reports and year-end documentation, and maintaining efficient accounting practices. Youll serve as the point of accountability for financial reporting and will help guide the companys financial health through accurate, timely information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and reports prepared by the Bookkeeper
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
  • Coordinate with external accountants on year-end processes and filings
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasting
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Use and manage accounting software (QuickBooks) and productivity tools (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support operational decisions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or controller-level roles
  • Preferably CPA designated
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, GAAP, and internal controls
  • Proficiency withQuickBooksandMicrosoft 365(especially Excel and SharePoint)
  • Experience working in or with small to mid-sized companies
  • Prior experience in construction or a general contracting environment is a strong asset
  • Ability to work full-time, in-office at Mississauga location
