ABOUT THE ROLE
The Digital Marketing and Social Media Specialist plays a key role in shaping and executing Cuso Internationals marketing strategy. This position focuses on enhancing the websites structure and performance, creating impactful online marketing materials, and driving brand growth through data-driven insights. Working closely with the Manager, Marketing and Communications and Engagement team, the Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist oversees digital communications, including social media, website management, online fundraising, recruitment, e-newsletters, and marketing materials. By collaborating with various departments, this role helps amplify Cuso Internationals presence and supports fundraising efforts across multiple digital platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and lead in the creation of digital content for social media, tailored and on brand for each platform, including monitoring channels to engage with our social media audiences, and work with the regions as we expand our social media footprint and to assist Country Program Offices (CPOs) to actively engage with their local networks
- Write and manage channel-specific social media copy aligned with our priorities, events, and issues, scheduling via Hootsuite.
- Experience developing graphics for outreach tools and social media, like Hootsuite, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Feathr, and Eventbrite.
- Experience in website development and auditing tools to maintain, optimize, and assess website performance, ensuring alignment with Cuso Internationals brand and objectives. Proficiency in WordPress, SEMrush, or similar platforms is an asset. Responsible for the daily management of Cuso Internationals website, including brand consistency (both visual and written), SEO monitoring, and performance analytics.
- Participate in the timely deployment and analysis of digital communications including email marketing, newsletters, and fundraising appeals using Feathr and Fundraise Up.
- Manage and update email segments and subscriber lists
- Build long- and short-term strategies for online campaigns to build engagement and increase Cuso Internationals online presence
General:
The Digital Marketing and Social Media Specialist is expected to work effectively as part of the Cuso International staff team and in particular to:
- Contribute to the general discussion of issues relating to Cuso Internationals communications and marketing initiatives.
Participate in cross-team projects in support of organizational objectives - Take direction and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Be creative in finding solutions to challenges and demonstrate initiative
- Be flexible and willing to help with a wide range of tasks
- Work independently within larger team
- Undertake specific additional responsibilities from time-to-time, as may be agreed upon with the Manager, Marketing and Communications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEssential:
- Minimum 5 years direct experience working in digital communications and marketing or similar industry
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
- Experience in digital fundraising principles and objectives
- Prior experience working with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools e.g., Feathr, Fundraise Up & CMS (Content Management Systems), as well as WordPress, on a daily basis
- Extremely comfortable/knowledgeable in executing email marketing using an email marketing tool (Feathr preferred) and must have knowledge of using HTML
- Creative, adaptable, a great communicator with a high attention to detail.
- Reliable and motivated--willing to learn, take on projects, and self-manage their time and projects.
- Good understanding of web design and UX principles
- Experience monitoring and evaluating digital analytics
- Attitudes and behaviours that show respect for diversity
- Able to work productively and professionally in a remote-work arrangement within an already established and safe home office
Desirable:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Bilingual Spanish or French
