Position Title: Project Accountant (Summer Student)

Department: Finance

Location: Calgary

Position Type: Summer Student, anticipated to be May-end of August 2025.

Summer Student Opportunity: Project Accountant

Gain hands-on experience in financial tracking and project accounting with our Project Accountant (Summer Student) role. This position is ideal for students looking to develop accounting and financial analysis skills while working closely with Project Managers, Area Managers, and Corporate Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support financial tracking, reconciliations, and budget compliance for various projects.
• Assist with invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure timely processing.
• Help prepare monthly financial reports and project reconciliations.
• Participate in financial reviews, audits, and strategic meetings.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a business, finance, or accounting program.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial software (ERP, BI environments preferred).
• Interest in construction or project accounting is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position requires long periods of sitting, data entry, and computer work for extended periods. You are responsible for working in a safe and proper manner utilizing Workplace Ergonomics to avoid injury to oneself and to others.

Work Environment

The position will be based out of KBLs Calgary office. Travel may be required for project and department specific functions.
