About the Role
This is a 1 year full time term position.
The Cybersecurity Analyst will be instrumental in safeguarding the organization against evolving cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a security-conscious culture. Your expertise will directly contribute to minimizing risk, maintaining operational continuity, and protecting sensitive data, ultimately strengthening the organization's overall security resilience.
Reporting to the Director, IT, the Cybersecurity Analyst plays a crucial role in protecting the organization's digital assets by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats. This position ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT systems and data through proactive monitoring, security best practices, and continuous improvements to security posture.
The position focuses on achieving excellence in three main accountabilities:

Required Skills / Expertise
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitors and analyzes security alerts from various sources, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), security information and event management (SIEM) tools, and firewalls to detect potential security threats
- Identifies, investigates, and mitigates security incidents, ensuring a swift and coordinated response to potential cyber threats, including malware infections, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access
- Conducts regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify, document, and remediate security weaknesses in IT systems and applications
- Generates detailed reports on security events, risk assessments, compliance audits, and incident response activities to support internal and external stakeholders in maintaining security transparency
- Develops, implements, and enforces security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure a strong security posture across the organization
- Works closely with the IT team to integrate security controls into system architectures, applications, and cloud environments to ensure secure infrastructure operations
- Deploys, configures, and maintains security tools, such as firewalls, antivirus software, endpoint protection, and identity management solutions to prevent security breaches
- Ensures adherence to regulatory standards (such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS), conducts regular risk assessments, and collaborates with compliance teams to ensure organizational security obligations are met
- Designs and conducts security awareness programs for team members, ensuring they are educated on security best practices, social engineering threats, and data protection techniques
- Assists IT Team in managing user expectations, supports with IT Tickets and collaborates with the System Administrator
- Provide basic technical support to end users including trouble shooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist with system administration tasks such as user account management and software implementations
- Assist with IT projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related role
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST, SOC, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls
- Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions
- Experience with cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) (nice to have)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and threat analysis
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC are highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively across departments
- Experience with monitoring tools
- Experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing and ethical hacking methodologies
- Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles
