Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Analyst to join our Human Resources department, in our Vancouver office. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic and hardworking team player. The regular working hours for this role are Monday Friday, 8:30am 4:30pm.

Standard Responsibilities:

The Human Resources and Payroll Analyst will report to the Director of Human Resources and have a variety of responsibilities. This position offers fantastic opportunities for growth and professional development. Duties include but are not limited to:

Payroll & Benefits Support:

Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with semi-monthly and monthly payroll for 500+ employees.

Process payroll deductions, benefits, taxes, and handle any adjustments or corrections.

Act as a backup for payroll during vacation relief periods.

Provide administrative support for payroll functions.

Prepare monthly payroll journal entries.

Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, enrollment changes, and employee communication on benefit options.

Contribute to year-end budget processes, including spreadsheet creation and data input.

Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Collaborate closely with the Accounting/Finance Department and external vendors (e.g., Canada Life, Homewood, Recruiters).

Generate and create payroll reports as needed.

Human Resources Support:

Maintain HRIS system (BambooHR), ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all offices.

Provide general administrative support to the HR team.

Assist with HR projects, including tracking HR KPIs, budgeting, and more.

Generate and create HR-related reports as required.

Administer annual staff performance reviews.

Assist the HR team in recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and managing the applicant tracking system.

Actively participate in Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency Response Committees.

Perform other HR-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Payroll Administration.

Experience within a professional services firm is an asset.

Familiarity with ADP WorkForceNow and Aderant is an asset, but not required.

Knowledge of HRIS systems is a plus.

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the firm.

Tactful and discreet when handling confidential matters.

Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands with attention to detail and accountability.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced skills).

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Thetypical salary range for this position is$50,000 - $60,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
