The Technical Fire Sales Specialist is a critical role in facets of day-to-day solutions selling of Company products in the assigned region. You will be responsible for product specifications & recommendations, customer education presentations, market intelligence, sales forecasting & business development, and overall technical sales and project support for fire protection applications.
You will work closely with the sales and engineering teams to drive sales growth, maintain strong relationships with key customers, and ensure the optimal application of Armstrong's fire protection technologies in various commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
This position is based out of a home office in Alberta with travel to client meetings, site visits, and industry events as required within and without the province of Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical support to consulting engineers, contractors, and customers on Armstrong Fluid Technology's fire protection product offerings, including fire pump systems, valves, and related solutions.
- Work closely with customers to understand their project requirements and specifications, offering tailored recommendations for Armstrongs fire protection products that meet their needs.
- Deliver technical presentations and training sessions to educate customers on the capabilities, benefits, and installation of Armstrongs fire protection products. Help customers understand how our solutions meet fire safety codes and standards.
- Drive new business opportunities by identifying and pursuing sales leads, expanding the customer base, and promoting Armstrong's fire protection solutions to engineering firms, contractors, and consultants.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering firms, contractors, and end-users, acting as their primary point of contact for technical inquiries and product support.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure proper specification, installation, and troubleshooting of Armstrongs fire protection products on customer projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting project deadlines.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, fire protection codes, and competitor products, providing feedback to internal teams on market requirements and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project statuses, and sales opportunities, and provide regular reports to management on sales activities and forecasted opportunities.
- Assist customers with product data, specifications, and compliance documentation for fire protection systems. Ensure all documentation is accurate and aligns with industry regulations and standards.

What Were Looking For
To thrive in the role, you should bring:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, Fire Protection, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in sales or technical support, specifically within the fire protection, HVAC, or building systems industry.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems, including fire pumps, valves, and related technologies. Familiarity with relevant fire safety codes and standards
- Proven ability to develop and close sales opportunities, including experience in selling complex technical solutions to engineers and contractors.
- Excellent technical knowledge and the ability to communicate complex technical information in an easily understandable way.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, provide technical guidance, and offer solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (sales, engineering, customer service) to deliver outstanding customer outcomes
- Experience in sales or customer-facing roles, with the ability to combine technical knowledge and solution selling strategies to drive business growth
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently
