Cost Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Regularly monitor inventory, manufacturing variances, providing clear analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and record financial transactions, including assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses, using tools like QuickBooks.
• Produce reports on inventory control
• Review operational expenses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for both operational and capital expenditures.
• Conduct profitability assessments for products and projects, delivering actionable insights to key stakeholders.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
• Help prepare monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile subsidiary accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate allocations.
• Prepare necessary tax and regulatory filings
• Uphold internal control procedures and ensure confidentiality of financial data.

Education & Experience:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in cost accounting
• 1-2 years of experience working with inventory management systems and ERP platforms.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation is a plus.
• Experience with financial analysis, project accounting, and general ledger functions is an asset.
• Familiarity with the month-end/year-end close process is preferred.
