Role Overview

We're seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to support the design, planning, and implementation of smart lighting solutions across various projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD, strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools, and a solid understanding of lighting or electrical systems. This role also requires performing on-site lighting assessments and collaborating closely with our sales and project teams.

• Prepare and modify lighting layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings using AutoCAD.

• Conduct on-site lighting assessments to gather data, take measurements, and evaluate retrofit opportunities.

• Assist in the development of smart lighting and control system designs.

• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to develop tailored solutions.

• Perform take-offs, product selections, and generate technical submittals.

• Support pre-sales and post-sales engineering needs, including troubleshooting and site support.

• Maintain organized documentation and contribute to process improvements.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical or architectural applications.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Competence with Adobe Acrobat and Creative Suite tools for technical documentation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

• Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

• Valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is mandatory.

• Educational background or apprenticeship in electrical engineering, construction, or lighting.

• Understanding of lighting controls, sensors, and automation systems.

• Familiarity with IES files, lighting calculation software (e.g., Dialux, AGi32), or Revit.
