Role: Senior Grid Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON
- Design and build the Grid platform in line with strategic IT architecture
- Manage and maintain the Grid platform
- Optimize cloud engine performance on Azure and AWS for efficient workload execution
- Monitor and optimize the deployment of workloads in cloud environments
- Develop and maintain automation tools using Python and Powershell
- Manage infrastructure expansions and compliance
- Make cost efficiency recommendations
- Collaborate with business, quant and other IT teams to deliver on projects
- Provide third-line technical support for the technology platform
- Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting and resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with developers to investigate and fix grid-related issues impacting grid applications
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, tools and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast paced high pressure environment, where stability and reliability is critical
- 5+ years Experience with large scale Grid computing environments 100,000+ cores (DataSyanpse|Tibco GridServer / IBM Platform Symphony or similar)
- Experience developing and supporting grid applications, using Grid APIs, Java/C#/C++
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS and coding in Python and Powershell
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Tibco GridServer 7.X on Windows Server
- Log Analytics (Elasticsearch/SQL/Kibana/Grafana)
- Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Azure
- Advanced Scripting skill using Python and Powershell for automation
- Developer knowledge of Java/C#/C++ with experience in client driver API integration
- Windows Server 2019/2022
- Enterprise monitoring tools, Geneos
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Nive to have:
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Jenkins
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for distributed systems
