We're looking for our next dynamic and innovative VP, People & Culture to join our team as we experience exciting growth. Reporting to the CEO, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function across our global hybrid and remote employee locations in Canada, the USA and Vietnam. You will lead a growing People & Culture team and build on strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent, foster a positive and engaging work environment, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, as we scale. A day in the life as a VP, People & Culture

  • Workforce Planning: Lead strategic workforce planning initiatives to support sustainable, rapid growth, ensuring we have the right people in the right places to achieve our business objectives.
  • Talent Attraction, Selection & Hiring: Empower the Talent Acquisition team to build a compelling employer brand that attracts a diverse pool of qualified candidates. Support the continued evolution of a modern, best-practice candidate experience program that empowers leaders to hire team members who align with our values and role requirements.
  • Pre-boarding & Onboarding: Continually evolve the company-wide pre-boarding and onboarding programs, and lead the P&C Business Partners who support the leaders in developing consistent, effective departmental onboarding processes.
  • Learning & Growth: Design and implement a continuous learning and development program, and empower leaders to provide effective coaching that drives employee performance and career growth.
  • Employee Experience: Provide strategic leadership enhance programs that foster a culture of belonging, wellness, fairness, and recognition, resulting in a high-performing and engaging work environment.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Maintain a competitive and equitable compensation and benefits program that aligns with company values, market standards, and internal equity, which effectively rewards performance and supports employee well-being.
  • Compliance: Maintain policies and programs to ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation in applicable provinces and states in Canada and the US, including health & safety, human rights, accessibility, and privacy regulations. Lead the P&C Specialist based in Vietnam to implement and manage local compliance initiatives consistent with company standards and processes.
  • Operations: Administer and continuously build, maintain, and improve all P&C programs, systems, and tools. Maintain metric and dashboard data for effective reporting.
  • Leadership: Lead the exceptional P&C team and mentor their growth, development and career progression. Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team.

If the below describe your knowledge, experience and character, this role could be for you:

  • I have expert level knowledge of Ontario provincial employment related legislation (human rights, employment standards, privacy, health & safety, accessibility) and I have advanced level knowledge of other provincial employment related legislation (specifically within BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Quebec). I have proficient level knowledge of US state employment related legislation (specifically within Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, California, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon, Wisconsin).
  • I gained my human resources knowledge through a combination of formal education (HR associations, college, university or other accredited courses) and direct human resources experience.
  • I have 10+ years of direct human resources experience in roles with continued progression of responsibility with at least 2 years leading a People & Culture function in a high growth SaaS organization. Ideally, I have HR experience in both a start up environment and an enterprise environment.
  • I have worked with a PEO model.
  • I enjoy using technology to modernize the HR function and make it continuously more efficient. For reference, the P&C tech stack includes: BambooHR, TriNet, Workable, Lattice, and Udemy
  • I'm familiar with leading HR operations in a global capacity
  • I'm exceptional at balancing the advocacy of the employees, the business and the leaders
  • I am passionate about fostering an environment where employees and leaders are excited to meet with P&C because they know they will be provided with advice, guidance, and support
  • I love a hybrid model and am able to work in the Cambridge, Ontario office located at 96 Grand Ave S at least 2 days a week.
  • I'm willing to travel to the Dallas, Texas office on a quarterly basis and occasional travel to Vietnam. I have a valid passport and no travel restrictions that limit my ability to cross the border between Canada, the USA and Vietnam.
  • I thrive in an agile environment that is constantly changing and encourages team members to collectively collaborate and communicate
  • I love to be directly involved in projects and initiatives that offer continued learning and endless opportunity to express my ideas and build my leadership skills
