OSP has an immediate need for aTechnical Sales Associatebased in the Calgary, Alberta area. This Technical Sales position will primarily be focused on the Alberta and surrounding area market and will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with current key accounts, as well as utilizing an existing external network to pursue new business opportunities within your assigned territory.

The role requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, tactical sales execution, and consideration to maintaining professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity while representing the company in a positive manner. As our Technical Sales Associate, you daily responsibilities will include:

  • Account management; chasing internal leads/direction while looking closely for improvements with existing clients
  • Engaging in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data, and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal level
  • Developing reports and proposals as part of sales presentation to illustrate benefits from use of good or service Identify and solicit potential clientele
  • Executing client orders internally
  • Building and maintaining ongoing awareness of new products and services as well as competitor activities and industry intelligence
  • Evolving and building relationships with new accounts and develop additional contacts within existing accounts
  • Handling customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the appropriate individual as deemed necessary
  • Keeping up-to-date records on sales calls, customer contacts, and details of meetings in a timely manner in the format required, relay customer quality improvement suggestions for company products and services

On your resume and cover letter, we ask that you outline the following qualifications:

5 + years of related sales, business development and/or account management experience

Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a Technical/Scientific discipline

Production/mid-steam Oil & Gas experience

Water Treatment chemical experience

Ability to quickly pick up highly technical product and service knowledge, and communicate that knowledge effectively internally and with clients

CRM experience such as SalesForce, etc.

Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels both verbally and in writing written and spoken business English at a high level required
