Located in Vaughan, ON., isure is Canada's fastest-growing digital insurance brokerage and we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager who will oversee the accounting team within the brokerage. This position provides financial leadership, support, and analysis to the brokerage.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • With the Chief Operating Officer, design and implements financial policies and procedures as well as assist in a leadership role in the financial management of the brokerage.

  • Analyze financial information and prepare internal financial reports.

  • Create and maintain a series of financial controls and procedures for the finance/accounting department.

  • Oversee the year-end financial statements and supporting documentation for yearly tax filings.

  • Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Manage and monitor metrics, KPI tracking, and reports.

  • Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organization.

  • Analyze market trends and provide data-based recommendations.

  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of the company's finances.

  • Oversee the preparation of payroll and monthly commission payments.

  • Oversee the preparation of bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements.

  • A strong understanding of financial trends.

  • Project management skills that demonstrate an ability to set and meet deadlines.

  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

  • Monitor cash flow and recommend financial decisions and timing.

Qualifications:

What would make you a good fit?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Finance Operations or a related field.

  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.

  • Full cycle accounting, including budgeting and forecasting.

  • Experience with SIG XP is an asset.

  • Solid experience in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and the implementation of a control structure and strong internal controls over financial reporting and transactions.

  • Advanced analytical accounting skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • A flexible team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate and support colleagues.

  • Comfortable working independently with little direction.
