Job Description

Internal Job Title: Converting Machine Operator
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Job Location: Calgary, AB
Work Model: On-site

Shift: Day Shift

Responsibilities

As a Converting Machine Operator at CBNCS, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating sophisticated, high-speed converting equipment and producing a zero-defect finished product. More specifically, you will:

  • Review job orders and against supplied raw materials;
  • Set-up and operate the high-speed converting line with in-line camera system;
  • Constantly monitor the machine output to ensure complete integrity of the finished product;
  • Adjusting the line to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met;
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring quality product is delivered on-time and to budget.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literacy (exposure to Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) is an asset)
  • Experience working with automated or semi-automated light/heavy manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with automated high-speed paper feeders.
  • Auditing and reconciliation experience is an asset.
  • Quality control experience is an asset

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Language: Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for majority of shift; ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs
  • Work Hours: Ability to work rotating day shifts:
    • 3 x 12 hour shifts (6.00 AM to 6.00 PM)
    • Monday to Wednesday or Thursday to Saturday
    • Shift rotates every 4 to 6 weeks
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) personal security clearance
