New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Temporary (approx. 6 months) Store Team Leader at our Food Store in Hythe, Alberta.

What youll do:


  • Provide superior leadership through coaching, development, performance management, and feedback to Team Members to ensure that they deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Developing and adhering to operational and budgetary goals including sales, margins, expenses, inventory and sales per employee hour
  • Lead a culture of safety for both management and non-management employees through continuous training and adherence to New Horizon Co-ops standards for health & safety, loss prevention, and environmental due diligence
  • Ensure company policies, best practices, training courses, and certifications are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure inventories are managed and protected in compliance with management standards to maintain high levels of accuracy and minimal losses
  • Other duties, as assigned

Who you are:

  • 5 + years of progressively responsible work experience in a retail environment, including 1-2+ years of demonstrated experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated experience tracking and monitoring customer satisfaction levels
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage operational budgets, maximize operational efficiency, and improve sales and growth margin
  • Effective planning, organization and time management skills
  • Strong inventory management, analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and providing performance feedback to Team Leaders/Supervisors
  • Great computer skills (including data entry accuracy) and the ability to manage computer files efficiently
  • Related experience in the Co-operative Retailing System is an asset
