(Local travel may be required)THE ROLEAs a Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of municipal vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will contribute to the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, enabling us to continue delivering high-quality services to the community. This is a 1-year contract position.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on municipal vehicles, including cars, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and service activities.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure the fleet operates efficiently and safely.

Qualifications:

• Formal training or certification in automotive or industrial mechanics.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and provide repair updates.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to operate various municipal vehicles and equipment.
  

Working Conditions:
This position involves working in a municipal garage or workshop setting with occasional outdoor work. The role requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
