The Program Area Leader is responsible for the development and implementation of the Recreation Program for Children and Youth ages 6 - 13 years.The Recreation Program includes Physical Activity, Creative Arts, Leadership, Community Outings and Fun!!
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the program by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards.
- Supervise and interact with children and youth in a positive and supportive manner to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Transporting participants in Agency Vans to various sites for recreational purposes.
- Establish open communication with parents/care givers.
- Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
- Promotes public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
- Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
Qualifications:
- A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.
- Current First Aid certificate
- Class 5 Driver License willingness to obtain a class 4
- Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check
This position is open to all applicants
Hours: Casual hours available, Monday to Saturday, some weekend work required. Hours dependent on program needs.
Rate of Pay: $19.82 per hour
