The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with corporate sponsors and individuals, contributing to annual appeal campaigns that support THEMUSEUM, a not for profit.
The team-oriented person will report to the Manager of Development who is focused on grants and foundations. The person will also liaise with a person who will assist with outbound sales efforts for Memberships, Group Sales and Birthdays with the goal to convert them into donors and or volunteers.The person will maintain and grow the Raisers Edge Donor Management Software data base through strategic acquisition, maintenance of accurate donor data, personalized communication plans, and execution of other activities and events that support ongoing stewardship efforts.
The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and you must work onsite at THEMUSEUM.
PRIMARY DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual Giving Campaigns & Corporate Sponsor Acquisition:
Creates a plan to grow and maintain donor base over 12 months.
Write a comprehensive work back schedule that meets the budget timelines.
Writes donor appeal materials, including strategy, key messages, letters, etc.
Submits design requests for campaign marketing materials: print, social media, etc.
Prepares and orders appeal materials: donation forms, business return envelopes, etc.
Assists with the planning and execution of fundraising events.
Creates sponsorship appeals and cultivates corporation and business connections to support special exhibitions, events, and aspects of THEMUSEUMs ongoing operations.
Develop strategies for crossover opportunities with Members, renters, and visitors to the facility.
Develop strategies to increase Membership, Group Sales and Birthday parties.
Giving Research and Relationship Management:
Performs prospective research on potential Major Gift donors, including corporate giving programs.
Identifies individuals and families that provide support to not-for-profits and record relevant information, contacts, and meeting updates in the CRM database.
Executes action plans for donor cultivation and stewardship plan for annual donors.
Provides stewardship through sending thank you cards, attending award ceremonies, informing through regular communication, fulfilling recognition requirements, contributing to annual Impact Reports.
Briefs CEO and other departments on pertinent information and involves them when necessary.
Monitors POS report donations and conduct follow-ups with donors.
Ensures RE NXT database records reconcile with financial records.
Compiles a year-end report on giving trends at THEMUSEUM.
Other:
Attending special events and business meetings outside of regular office hours may be required.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Two Year Community College Diploma in business administration, fundraising, communications, arts management, or not-for-profit management.
The following are assets to the position:
Certified Fund-Raising Executive Designation (CFRE)
Diploma/Degree in fundraising
Experience with fundraising and donor recognition events
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1-2 years related experience in fundraising, including:
Knowledge of fundraising practices and CRA guidelines
Experience in securing donations from individual donors
Experience in planning and executing Individual Giving campaigns: direct mail, e-appeals, etc.
Knowledge of and experience with donor stewardship and relationship building
