The opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists in our Security department within the Metals division for a Supervisor, Security located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The purpose of this position is to lead the implementation and delivery of security services, including access control and the protection of physical assets. This role contributes to the development of the Security business plan ensuring alignment with the overall Metals strategy.

In this role, you will be accountable for:
- Developing and implementing a business plan that supports continuous improvement and aligns with the overall Metals strategy.
- Monitoring and entering data to track and analyze statistics and trends within Security operations.
- Ensuring standards and procedures comply with current regulatory requirements and industry standards related to security operations.
- Reviewing and updating security practices, policies, and training to align with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR).
- Overseeing the onboarding process and providing continuous training to ensure Security Guards maintain competency and adhere to established protocols.
- Representing the organization with external stakeholders to gather best practices and monitor Security Officer competency.
- Testing, updating, and improving security practices in collaboration with local industrial neighbors and municipal authorities.
- Monitoring and maintaining a legal register of laws and regulations related to security.
- Implementing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in Security operations.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation and Leadership Development certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial Security, including regulatory compliance and external stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to guide and develop teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking and presentations.
- Proficiency in conducting investigations and applying the Canadian Incident Command System (ICS-100) framework.
- Experience delivering training programs, including "Train the Trainer" certification.
- Extensive experience and strong knowledge in dispatch operations.
- Ability to analyze data, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
