JOB DESCRIPTION
The Systems Specialist will manage and support the organizations technology systems, focusing on our Oracle NetSuite ERP system. This role will ensure seamless integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of system processes and support daily accounting & operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Oracle NetSuite, accounting and business operation experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oracle NetSuite Administration:
- Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Oracle NetSuite platform.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure smooth functionality.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand business requirements and implement system changes in NetSuite.
- Troubleshoot NetSuite-related issues and work with Oracle support when necessary to resolve problems.
- Created and maintained NetSuite reports, dashboards, workflows, and saved searches.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on NetSuite usage and best practices.
2. Systems Management & Optimization:
- Maintain and manage other business systems and software as required. ie. Google Workspace
- Ensure system performance, security, and availability by monitoring and optimizing system operations.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with external vendors for system maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
3. IT Support:
- Provide first-level and second-level IT support to internal users, including hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Assist in setting up, maintaining, and supporting company workstations, servers, and mobile devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
- Support the implementation and deployment of new software, hardware, and system upgrades.
- Assist with network administration, including monitoring and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Website administration, updating and maintenance.
4. Project Management:
- Lead or assist in IT-related projects like system upgrades, migrations, or new implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integrations and process improvements.
5. Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain detailed system documentation, including configuration settings, user guides, and troubleshooting steps.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, data protection regulations, and industry standards.
QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Information Systems.
- 3-5 years of experience in Business Information Systems & IT/System support, focusing on Oracle NetSuite.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle NetSuite configuration, administration, and support.
- Strong understanding of cloud ERP infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting IT hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience with project management and systems integration.
- NetSuite certifications (such as Suite Foundation, Administrator, ERP Management)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript) for NetSuite customizations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various teams.
JOB TYPE
Full-time and remote home office set-up is required. This position is within the corporate Borealis team and will require travel to all branches in Canada and the USA. This role may require occasional on-call work or after-hours support.
