The organization owns and operates the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, Canadian Tire Centre, and the Belleville Senators. It also operates Ottawa Black Bears lacrosse, manages multi-use Sensplex facilities across the National Capital Region, and works in partnership with the Senators Community Foundation.

Position Summary

The Ottawa Senators are seeking a talented and motivated Video Producer with a passion for storytelling, fast-paced environments and high-quality productions. This role will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for creating compelling video content utilized for Sens social media channels, Ottawasenators.com, commercial broadcasts, and the In-game show at all Ottawa Senators home games. This person should have strong knowledge of video production and technical skills including, cinematic shooting, editing with a focus on storytelling. The video producer will work as a part of the Digital content Department while collaborating with the Creative, Communications and Game Presentation departments.

Reports to: Director, Digital and Social Media

Responsibilities

  • Producing, directing and filming video shoots
  • Brainstorming and ideating creative video content
  • Editing video content for social media, in-arena broadcast and ottawasenators.com
  • Archive Senators video library and responsible for the organization and safety of all digital historical video content
  • Assist in the maintenance of the audio and video equipment as well as recommend upgrades as required
  • Other duties as required

Essential qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of video content production in a professional environment, including experience filming live events.
  • Ability to create captivating storytelling through video.
  • Ability to produce multiple projects from inception to completion in a fast-paced environment. Either independently or as part of a team
  • High level of knowledge of professional video cameras and a variety of lighting techniques.
  • Ability to create content that aligns to overall organizational brand strategy within the context of multiple platforms.
  • Experience setting up and conducting interviews, including scouting and creating sets when needed.
  • Constantly develop skills and explore new creative techniques and trends
  • Available to travel internationally and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Able to life 25lbs.

Non-essential Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency of the Adobe CC Suite.
  • Bilingual (English & French).
  • Strong knowledge of hockey and the overall sports social media landscape.
  • Experience or working knowledge of live streaming and live stream technologies.
