Tax Manager

Position Overview:

Are you a designated accountant who has specialized in tax and is looking for an exciting tax opportunity with a global leader in their industry? Have you completed or are pursuing your In-Depth Tax Course and are interested in putting your learnings to use for a dynamic organization that is a global leader in their industry? If so, Lambert Nemec Group, a Premier Specialized Recruitment Firm, has been engaged by our client to recruit a Corporate Tax Manager role to join their team. Our client, a well-regarded global company with many complex business units, is seeking an intelligent and intrinsically motivated Corporate Tax Manager to be responsible for all aspects of their Canadian Tax as well as supporting their International Tax responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

In addition, the Tax Manager is responsible for:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for federal and provincial tax authorities, overseeing the progress of tax audits.
  • Conduct research and analysis on tax-related matters and prepare or review responses to audit inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Review and update uncertain tax positions, ensuring proper documentation for financial reporting under IFRS on a quarterly basis.
  • Monitor and document reassessments and relevant tax attributes and assist in the preparation and review of current tax account reconciliations for quarterly IFRS financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior management and external advisors on tax-related issues.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to staff, fostering their professional growth.
  • Analyze, research, and document tax implications for special transactions and tax planning matters, including identifying and quantifying Canadian tax risks, proposing solutions or filing positions, and coordinating with other departments.
  • Investigate and resolve tax inquiries from non-tax departments.
  • Support and collaborate with the Tax Reporting team in reviewing and analyzing specific tax issues, considerations, and filing positions.

Requirements:

  • A Canadian-recognized Chartered Professional Accountant Designation, in good standing
  • 5+ years working at a Public Accounting Firm with a focus on tax compliance
  • Completed or actively pursuing In-Depth Tax Course
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting under IFRS
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporate income tax
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage processes from start to finish

Rewards:
