Position Summary

This four-month co-op opportunity (May to August) offers hands-on experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, and content creation within a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable industry knowledge while contributing to impactful campaigns that enhance brand awareness and audience engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Marketing Team in developing strategies and content to enhance BRC and Tayco's online and social media presence.
  • Support the Marketing Team in coordinating case studies and testimonials for use in marketing and sales materials.
  • Help draft news articles, including employee profiles, interest pieces, and white pages, while collaborating with the Communications Specialist, Digital, to publish content on the website and promote it on social media.
  • Assist in managing BRC and Tayco's social media content calendar by supporting the creation of digital materials such as images, reels, and video content.
  • Provide support in drafting e-blasts, newsletters, and marketing copy as needed, including content for Woodlore.
  • Help research and gather materials for articles, press releases, and case studies for Woodlore.
  • Monitor and engage with BRC and Tayco's social media audience under guidance, assisting in content planning to generate new leads and website traffic.
  • Conduct research on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to assist in marketing strategy development.
  • Support reputation management efforts by monitoring online mentions and flagging key insights to the Marketing Team.
  • Participate in Social Committee activities and initiatives.
  • Assist the marketing and sales teams at special events and tradeshows as needed.
  • Provide administrative support as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

    • Working towards a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, or enrolled in a post-graduate marketing program.
    • Experience with content creation, social media management, or digital marketing through coursework, internships, or personal projects is preferred.
    • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
    • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
    • Experience with writing content for social media and an understanding of different social media platforms.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging marketing content.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative on tasks with minimal supervision.
    • A portfolio of school assignments, projects, or previous work related to marketing is preferred.
