Your Opportunity:
At H2Safety Services Inc., we are committed to enhancing emergency preparedness and response capabilities within Indigenous communities across Canada. As a Project Manager for Indigenous Emergency Management, you will play a key role in supporting, leading, and strategically directing emergency management initiatives with Indigenous Peoples, communities, and businesses. This role focuses on executing Emergency Management Programs, conducting Hazard Risk and Vulnerability Assessments (HRVA), and developing comprehensive Risk Mitigation Strategies to enhance community resilience.
As a trusted leader, you will oversee the full lifecycle of Emergency Response Plan (ERP) projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, client needs, and regulatory standards. You will coordinate with internal teams such as GIS, engineering, and training while engaging with Indigenous communities to build relationships and develop culturally informed emergency preparedness solutions.
This role requires experience in strategic planning, risk assessment, community engagement, and regulatory compliance to ensure Indigenous emergency management initiatives are delivered effectively and sustainably. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing Nation-based, all-hazards Emergency Management Programs, incorporating policy, infrastructure resilience, and natural solutions to support emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. As a leader within H2Safety Services Inc., you will also mentor and develop project management staff, fostering a sustainable pipeline of Indigenous emergency management professionals. This position involves direct oversight of First Nations Emergency Management Programs, ensuring they evolve in response to emerging threats, funding opportunities, and legislative changes.

What Youll Do Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for Indigenous communities.
Lead Hazard, Risk, and Vulnerability Assessments (HRVA) and risk mitigation planning.
Ensure project objectives align with community needs, best practices, and organizational goals.
Coordinate internal teams (GIS, engineering, training) for seamless project execution.
Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous leadership and community.
Advocate for culturally appropriate emergency preparedness solutions at all levels.
Manage project budgets, funding acquisition, and financial sustainability.
Integrate industry best practices into projects.
Mentor and develop project management staff, fostering leadership and professional growth.
Oversee training programs, workshops, and succession planning for Indigenous emergency preparedness.
Collaborate across departments, industry leaders, and community groups to enhance emergency management.
Represent H2Safety at events, conferences, and community meetings.
What Youll Bring to the Team
Post-secondary diploma or degree in emergency management, business, community development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-7+ years of experience in project coordination, emergency management, or related roles, with increasing responsibility based on experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 200, or 300 certifications are preferred, depending on experience level but not required.
Strong background in indigenous relations and emergency management best practices.
Demonstrated experience in hazard, vulnerability, and risk assessments (HRVA) and multi-layered risk mitigation strategies.
Experience leading emergency management initiatives, strategic planning, and best practices in mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Advanced ability to engage and maintain relationships with Indigenous leadership and community members.
Experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost analysis for emergency management projects.
Ability to travel to Indigenous communities as required.
Must be able to obtain a Government security clearance.
