Responsibilities:

• Working as part of the Wood Coatings Group you will be asked to work closely with the Industrial Sales team to identify and qualify present customer suitability for the successful placement of our wood coatings products.
• Develop standard operating procedures for each customer as it pertains to their specific product and application. As well as continue to monitor these SOP's to ensure the correct application of these products.
• Provide ongoing customer field support, training and trouble shooting.
• Work with our valued Coating Suppliers for field support and ongoing training
• Developing and improving customer relations by effectively and professionally representing the company
• Willingness to work as part of the team to accomplish other business-related tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS and DUTIES:

• A background in coatings products by manufacturers such as Chemcraft, Axalta, Sherwin-Williams, ML Campbell or Becker Acroma
• Technical competence and experience with application of industrial coatings and use of spray equipment
• Knowledge of tools and machinery used in wood coating processes
• Knowledgeable of working with wood materials and surfaces
• Knowledgeable in the area of paint and chemical application techniques
• Knowledgeable about wet and dry film thickness, measuring instruments and other types of test methods
• Experience in identifying common coating defects including runs, sags, blisters, pin holes, adhesion issues, etc.
• Availability to travel for on-site customer technical support/training
• Contribute to a safe, organized and efficient work environment
• Comply with Health and Safety policies, systems and process
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning and organizing abilities
• Ability to work and set priorities in a multi-task environment with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confident in giving presentations, lunch and learns, training, etc.
• A valid Class 5 driver's license and personal vehicle

ASSETS:

• Secondary Education and/or
• Two years industry experience
• Sales and Territory management experience
• Color matching experience
