Position Summary
The Assistant Press Operator is responsible to prepare dies for production runs and assist the press operators in running the press to produce good quality parts.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the press operator with machinery set up and ensure all required materials are readily available
- Prepare the dies in die ovens for production runs based on the press schedule
- Use the overhead lift assist to move the dies through the workstation
- Monitor the production equipment and report any machine issue to the supervisor and maintenance team in a timely manner
- Meet daily targets for schedule adherence, activation, etc.
- Follow work instructions to ensure the production of good quality parts
- Assist in other areas on the line, such as packing, as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
- Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
- Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing environment is an asset
- Plant Environment
- Twelve hour rotating continental shift
- Exposure to loud noise and heat
- May be required to lift up to 50lbs
