Salary: starting from $90,000 to $ 110,000 (based on experience)

We are seeking for a Finacial Controller for a diverse group of food-focused businesses spanning Quick-Service Restaurants (QSR), Full-Service Restaurants (FSR), CPG, and food manufacturing for one of our clients. Job Summary:
As Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, and cash flow management, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. You will manage a team of bookkeepers and junior accountants and ensure our financial operations are aligned with industry best practices and our organization's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes across multiple business entities.
Maintain the integrity of financial data and oversee financial audits as necessary.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
Support the CEO and CFO in developing and managing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
Partner with management to create financial models and reports that support strategic decision-making, especially for CPG and manufacturing cost accounting.
3. Operational Finance & Strategy
Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP/AR and payroll, through the use of Xero, Dext, Plooto, and Cin7.
Responsible for weekly cash flow management and providing weekly cash flow reports to the executive team.
Provide strategic insights on financial performance, identify opportunities for cost savings, and drive margin improvement initiatives.
Support expansion planning, including financial analysis for new ventures, investments, and acquisitions.
4. Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor a team of bookkeepers and junior accountants, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and professional growth.
Establish internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and enhance accuracy in financial reporting.
5. Growth Potential
This position offers a path to becoming the Chief Financial Officer, contingent upon demonstrating impactful contributions and leadership in the role.
Qualifications:
A CPA designation is required, and experience in the food industry is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Xero, Dext, Plooto, and Cin7.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, with a background in QSR, FSR, CPG, or food manufacturing, is required.
Expertise in financial accounting with a strong understanding of cost accounting and cash flow management.
A strong understanding of accounting standards and experience preparing financial reporting packages for management, board of directors, banks and other stakeholders is considered an asset.
Strong analytical skills, with a strategic mindset and ability to interpret financial data to inform business decisions.
Strong attention to detail and well-organized to meet deadlines.
