The Boundaries Program is looking for a couple or an individual interested in a providing foster care for youth involved in the Youth Justice System.
The Boundaries Program is a Full-Time Attendance Program which provides a highly-supervised, structured environment to assist youth to address criminogenic factors and to reduce risk. The Program works in cooperation with Youth Probation and Youth Forensics Psychiatric Services to support the youths participation in offence-specific treatment. Services are customized to address the individual needs of each youth, while amplifying treatment goals.
Responsibilities >
Boundaries Caregivers provide supervision, stability and care to youth referred to the Program.
Caregivers assist youth to learn life-skills in the home, and help them to achieve service goals.
Caregivers must be willing to accommodate youth's schedules, and involve the youth in regular routines and family activities in the home.
Caregivers are fully immersed in the youths case management team, which includes Youth Probation and Youth Forensics Psychiatric Services. This provides an opportunity for ongoing communication and service planning.

Applicants should have an aptitude for relating to youth, be willing to work as part of a team, and be open to learning.
Training and ongoing professional development is provided.
Wage / Schedule / Supports >
The base salary for this position is $4050.00 / month plus an additional $29.50 each day a youth is in the home.
Caregivers are provided with 6-days of respite each month, at no cost.
Caregivers are well-supported by the Boundaries team. The Program employs a Youth Justice Counsellor, who works one-to-one with the youth in the community, and who helps youth and Caregivers to navigate challenging issues. 24-7 on-call support is provided by the Boundaries Program Director.

Youthlive in the Boundaries Caregivers home.This means applicants must have adequate space in their home to accommodate one youth at a time (including a private bedroom).
This is a Kelowna-based position which requires caregivers to live in, or near Kelowna BC.
Because we support youth convicted of a serious offense, this position is not suitable for applicants with children living in their home.
