Deliverables:
The Resources will act as a subject matter expert on a variety of datacenter networks and cloud projects initiatives such as:
- Enabling and supporting the day to day operations of the Government of Ontario's datacenters (GDC, Colo3 and Business Connect), cloud providers (Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM and Google clouds).
- Designing configuring advance security for existing Applications Hosting environment on premises and new cloud providers.
- Assist with complex migration from on premise to the public cloud providers.
- Assist in developing operational procedures and sustaining the Government Cloud offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve and support the day to day operations of AHS and Cloud applications (ex: patching, monitoring, etc).
- Integrate and secure cloud services for applications.
- Provide Operational Support for Networking/Security for GDC/Colo3, Business Connect/OPCS/Perimeter Firewalls for Azure and AWS 3. Daily operational changes, Incident/problem management.
- Provide on call/standby support when required. Closure of tickets in a timely manner, Keeping clients/management up to date on ticket status. Must adhere to Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics, device maintenance.
- Providing technical MoP for all changes.
- Ability to provide acquire network captures and articulate/document capture and point or root cause. Ability to work on Network/Security Project Initiatives along with all keep the lights on (KTLO) activities.
Requirements
Experience and Skill Set Requirements:
Must Haves:
- Deep networking experience with various technologies.
- Incident response experience.
- Must have cloud expertise in networking technologies.
- Must have client relationship skills
Nice to have:
- Prior OPS experience.
Skill Set Requirements:
Technical Experience:
- Cisco Nexus, ACI, Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), F5, Check Point, Palo Alto. Daily operational changes, Incident/problem management.
- Provide on call/standby support when required. Closure of tickets in a timely manner.
- Keeping clients/management up to date on ticket status.
- Strong conceptual and practical understanding of Networking (ACI) and VMware(NSX) - Building new infrastructure with automation as per design criteria.
- Provide intake and incident resolution - Integration of services such as identity, logging and monitoring.
- Provide reports as required.
- Provide skills and knowledge transfer.
- Provide solution status on various project being worked on.
- Demonstration of leading projects and initiatives end to end (technical and non-technical.
Cloud Expertise:
- Demonstrated knowledge and operational support experience with Azure/AWS/GCP/IBM Cloud providers or On-Premise Cloud environments that are of the same scale as the Government of Ontario Cloud or BPS environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge in scripting/coding using Agile/DevOps practices to improve service deliver
Incident Analysis and Problem Solving:
- Ability to work on Network/Security Project Initiatives along with all KTLO activities. Daily usage of all Network Tools to provide proactive support (NNMI, HPNA, Nexus Insight, Netscout, Elastic, Algo Sec).
General Skills:
- Demonstrated experience of working with customers/key stakeholders and using communication skills to resolve operational issues, negotiate or document process related intelligence.
