Position:Branch Manager

Reports to: General Manager, AB

Purpose of the Job:

This individual is responsible for the initiatives that drive the P&L performance and will ensure the long term profitable growth of their Branch through both Sales initiative and Operational efficiency.They must be self-motivating with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Financial Oversight

Review financial statements monthly to ensure operational costs support branch profitability.

Works with Head Office and Sales to create short and long-term pricing strategies to ensure acceptable growth and return on business

Follows buying guidelines on Delroc items, while looking for lower-cost alternatives for Non-Delroc items.

Manages inventory levels to meet customer needs and company targets

Considers methods for cutting costs without sacrificing customer service.

Manages hourly payroll.

Approves inventory vendor and consumables invoices.Works with head office on asset invoices, as required.

Reviews sales register daily to ensure correct products are used as well as proper margins.

2.Operational Efficiency

Ensures Dryco dispatch and delivery process are being followed and works closely with branch staff to lead their implementation and continued use.Trucks to spend a minimal time in the yard 20 minutes turn around between jobs.

Speaks to Drivers to let them know of expected delivery times.

At the end of the day review the following delivery schedule to ensure maximum efficiency.

Ensures company-mandated procedures and policies are followed

Ensures adequate coverage at the branch for all business hours

Maximizes sales to fully utilize operational resources.

Forecasts present and future volume and ensures adequate coverage, ensuring customer delivery needs are met, and company need for low cost operation are met.

Ensures safety procedures are followed, including holding monthly safety meetings, employee orientation, injury/claims management and reporting to reduce WSIB rates, and ensuring safe work guidelines are being followed in the warehouse and on delivery sites.

Ensure regular annual and bi-annual equipment inspections are completed promptly

Ensures truck maintenance and repairs are being conducted promptly.

Ensures delivery crews have all necessary equipment/tools to complete efficient deliveries.

Hold a high level of Bistrack knowledge and ensure all inside staff follow Bistrack procedures.Seeks support from super user for any Bistrack issue experienced by any of the branch staff.

Works with Senior management representative and Accounting representative to lead branch inventory count process including ensuring adequate count teams, organizing count areas, and ensuring all counting tools are in place ahead of count date.

3.Knowing our Customers

Provides customers with product information and quotes.

Works with customers to plan safe and efficient delivery access on new repeat jobs.

Assist with customer relationship building including coffee and lunch meetings.

Ensure customer complaints are dealt with quickly and appropriately, involving the Manufacturer salesperson where needed to provide support.

Develop an understanding of the market and networks with suppliers to develop new customers

Metrics

Developing new customers that spend more than $10,000 per month.

Increasing Margin

Increase the sales customers that are currently spending at least $10,000 per month with Dryco

Increase Market Share

4.Developing Employees

Hiring and Firing, including screening, and documented discipline

Motivates and sets expectations of productivity for all staff.

Must be cross-trained and able to cover for all other branch-level positions as well as able to cover for other managers within their region.

Supports operations supervisor by assisting with escalated delivery issues.

Provides all branch staff with positive encouragement and constructive criticism, and supports branch-level employee development.

Leads by example and holds staff to a high standard

Employee reviews (after 3, 6 and 12 months)

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Experience managing more than 10 people

Experience running or managing a business with Sales of more than $12,000,000/year

Proven track record of strategic development and execution

Forward-thinking leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate, lead by example and communicate effectively.

Experience

Proven business acumen in cost containment, people management and customer growth

Proven experience in Sales and Customer Development

Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated ability to develop an intimate knowledge of customers, competition and the market

Ability to coach and develop a diverse group of talent.
