- Focus on offering one-on-one Indigenous cultural support to youth.
- Positive and trusting relationship development with youth while supporting case management plans created with the youth.
- Provide individual programming to youth and work with youth to meet individual needs and connect youth to community resources.
- Create and implement individual programming with Coordinator and complete daily reports on programming experiences and youth progress.
- Incident Reporting and informing workers where necessary.
- Provide positive role-modelling, mentoring, and relationship-based programming.
- Supporting the youth to become involved in education/ employment.
- Advocating for the youth in the community.
- Support the youth on a daily basis toward meeting the short, medium and long term goals agreed to in the Action Plan and/or Community Safety plan.
- Support youth to meet appointments and be involved in the community.
- Implement opportunities for community connection, educational learning, recreational outings, skills development, & healthy lifestyles.
- Other tasks as assigned: e.g. supporting Street Culture social entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Human services degree/diploma/certifications
- Previous experience working with youth
- Conflict resolution training, current CPR/First Aid certification, ASIST Suicide Intervention Training
- Strong interpersonal skills & positive youth role-model
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- Sharing traditional Indigenous knowledge and wisdom
- Working with youth in high-risk situations
- Working with an Indigenous population
