About the Role:
The Admissions Coordinator works collaboratively with the Admissions team to oversee and facilitate assessments and admissions for clients to our Residential Addiction Treatment Program. Stonehenge is one of only two funded Therapeutic Communities in Ontario.

Qualifications:
- Completion of a University Degree relevant to mental health, addiction, or social services
- 1-3 years of progressive experience in addictions mandatory; Experience in mental health/concurrent disorders and trauma an asset
- Previous experience in residential treatment an asset;
- Previous experience in correctional field an asset
- Previous experience with justice-involved individuals preferred
- Lived experience related to addictions and/or mental health an asset
- CSC Clearance conducted by PWGS Canada
- Valid G Drivers License, held for a minimum of 3 years
- Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record
- Reliable Vehicle (own transportation required)
- Proof of a negative 2 Step TB test
- Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
Role Overview:
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all assessments and admissions for the residential treatment facility in their portfolio
- Use bio-psycho-social assessment skills and the provincial assessment tools to conduct comprehensive assessments including:
- group assessments
- individual assessments in office environment and at federal and provincial correctional facilities
- telephone/OTN assessments
- During group assessments, provide support to applicants as well as family/friends in attendance
- Provide crisis intervention and referral to crisis agencies for applicants as needed from point of assessment through to intake
- Consult with the residential clinical staff team in regard to re-admission of previous clients and complex cases
- Liaise with referral sources and connect with collateral contacts in gathering client information
- In collaboration with the Admissions team:
- manage the client wait list in determining bed availability
- flag referral and waitlist trends for public relations (PR) purposes
- Attend Community Assessment Team (CAT) meetings (off site and by phone) for federal and provincial correctional assessments as determined by portfolio
- Complete referrals to community agencies, including withdrawal management, when clients are not eligible for STC
- Complete client addendums, reports and documentation as required
- Coordinate intake process
- Complete statistical recording (CaseWORKS) when needed and utilize Offender Management System (OMS) as required
Residential Treatment Preparation Program:
- Provide individual support and education to encourage treatment readiness and motivation
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate psycho-education groups based on Motivational Interviewing
- Facilitate Crisis Intervention and supportive counselling/containment as required
- Develop a roster of appropriate community resources and referral partnerships and pathways
- Establish and maintain inventory of program supplies
- Complete required documentation such as Communication Log, program summary, and Incident
- Reports
- Monitor and screen clients for abstinence
- Manage incidents of perceived intoxication
- Maintain professional contact with clients and/or Probation and Parole via STC email for announcements, program changes or support
- Liaise with Probation and/or Parole Officers when necessary and report any required attendees and/or disclose any drug use with the direction of the Clinical Manager - Residential Services
Public Relations:
- Provide public relations support (i.e. presentations, institution visits, maintain and distribute PR material) for the residential program and broader agency (as required)
Other Responsibilities:
- Make referrals to internal and/or external programs or services, as appropriate
- Provide back-up support for Admissions program where required (in absence of staff or for vacation coverage)
- Provide back-up coverage for the Aftercare and Re-Entry program where required (in absence of staff or for vacation coverage)
- Attend all mandatory training programs and attend the weekly staff meeting
- Transport clients in agency vehicle when needed
- Additional responsibilities as required
