We are seeking a motivated and driven Technical Billing & Service Specialist to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role with one day in-office per week.
Job PurposeReporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Technical Billing & Service Specialist will support sales and service brokers with policy billing requests, document management, and administrative duties. This role involves regular collaboration with internal teams to process and service insurance policies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while striving to enhance service standards.

Technical Skills
Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, clients and underwriters.
Experience with billing and accounting processes.
Understanding of invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation.
Supporting customers with billing-related technical issues.
Proficiency with customer relationship management systems (CRM).
Experience with broker management systems (BMS) - Vertafore SIGxp preferred.
Proficiency with insurance company portals and vendor reporting portals.
Financial and accounting literacy.
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel.
Key Result Areas /Essential Functions Responsibilities
Administering internal standard operating procedures for agency bill and direct bill.
Supporting sales and service teams with timely policy billing and adjustments.
Processing monthly direct bill statements from insurance companies.
Diagnosing and resolving billing errors or discrepancies.
Assisting with accounting reports and audit preparation, including supporting documentation.
Assisting sales and service teams with policy document downloads and issuance, including file storage and record-keeping on the brokerage BMS.
Additional accounting team support as required.
Qualifications / Experience
RIBO licensed, in good standing with required continuing education (CE) hours.
Willingness to obtain RIBO license within 6 months of employment, supported by the brokerage.
CAIB and CRM designations and/or relative courses are considered an asset.
Personal lines experience is considered an asset.
Commercial lines experience is considered an asset.
Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
Remuneration
Annual salary, dependent on experience.
