Job DescriptionThe House of Commons' Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff and build a pool for the Information Management Program Officer position.
As the Information Management Program Officer for the House of Commons, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering information services to promote a culture where information is governed, managed, safeguarded, trusted, shared and used as a valuable corporate asset to innovate, anticipate and respond to the needs of the House and its Members in support of parliamentary democracy. The information management services span information architecture, information lifecycle management, information security, privacy and ethical use, information sharing, information quality, metadata management, information literacy, document and content management as well as knowledge management.
Your responsibilities encompass synthesizing the needs of clients into improved and new information services that meet their needs; providing inputs to the strategic planning activities of the program and its initiatives; providing expert advice to clients on IM policy instruments, methodologies and best practices; Contributing to the planning, development and communication of enterprise-wide policy instruments, processes, training, guidance as well as awareness and promotion materials regarding IM services and practices; Assess client understanding of IM best practices and supporting them on their journey in maturing their IM capability Additionally, you will contribute to evaluating the impact of change management strategies to continuously ensure objectives are met; carrying out research on industry trends, techniques and practices in information management, including new legislation, regulations and policies, assessing risk, compliance and the maturity of the IM program to propose enhancements to IM practices at the House of Commons.

Education :
- Successful completion of post-secondary education from a recognized institution in an Information Management, Data Management, or Information Technology related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Experience :
- Must be able to demonstrate at least two (2) initiatives where you were responsible for designing and developing information management deliverables for policy instruments (standards, guidance, training materials);
- Experience working with one or more information management systems such as electronic document management, knowledge management, information catalogue and glossary or compliance tools;
- Experience in gathering and documenting requirements, developing IM advice and assessing risk and compliance;
- Experience in taxonomy or metadata management;
- Knowledge of information management and information architecture best practices;
- Knowledge of information management program maturity scales.
Assets :
- Knowledge of user-experience and artificial intelligence concepts;
- Practical experience in Search optimization.
