Job Summary

The Portfolio Operations Analyst is responsible for the accurate capture, processing, pricing, and settlement of security transactions. The role involves managing corporate actions, performing reconciliations between clients and counterparties, and resolving issues with trading counterparties on behalf of a variety of complex investment funds and institutional clients.

General Responsibilities
  • Input transactions and process cash activity within the Portfolio Management System.
  • Record corporate actions and dividend payments as required.
  • Assist with pricing and valuing portfolio(s).
  • Perform reconciliations between clients and counterparties.
  • Liaise with clients and prime brokers to resolve trade breaks.
  • Produce timely and accurate internal/external reports on trading and investment performance.
  • Monitor, maintain, and meet tight reporting deadlines and the demanding obligations of clients.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Portfolio Management System.
Job Qualifications
  • A university or college degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role or a combined role involving complex securities and derivative products.
Technical Requirements
  • Basic working knowledge of Windows applications.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience with portfolio management and analytics systems is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Technical knowledge of alternative investment products and the offshore financial services industry, including system technology, valuation, accounting, prime brokerage, financing, and custody (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in relationship management and client service.
  • Self-driven, with a problem-solving mindset and strong work ethic.
  • High attention to detail with a strategic and analytical approach.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to understand and communicate multiple viewpoints.
  • Sociable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a client-facing environment.
  • Demonstrates high moral and ethical standards.
