IT Support Technician Full Time

The First Nations Health Consortium Ltd. of Alberta (FNHC) is looking to hire an IT Support Technician for our Edmonton Office.
Reporting to the IT Manager, this position provides first-level support by responding to all client requests and assists the IT team with set up, maintenance and configuration tasks.It is also responsible for inventory management, systems monitoring, and documentation. The Information Technology Support Technician will demonstrate due diligence in being exceptional in the delivery of high-quality services and meeting the requirements of the First Nations Health Consortiums IT department.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
First point of contact for all IT support service request, including but not limited to:
- Assist staff seeking technical assistance for computer hardware and software, network connectivity, cellphones, and network printers
- Assist the IT team with configuring and setting up user accounts, user accesses, computers, peripherals, cellphones, and desk phones
- Analyze and determine service priorities, plan daily schedule, investigate user complaints, troubleshoot and resolve system/hardware/software problems
Resolve, escalate and follow-up incidents and problems using IT departments best practices
Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties
Collect, organize and maintain a problems-and-solutions log for use in the ticketing system
Work collaboratively with the IT Manager for keeping systems secure and computer software patched regularly
Create and maintain accurate knowledge base articles and documentation
Maintain and upgrade skills through courses, and self-study
Ability to travel for work related purposes
Other duties as required
Education:
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Certifications are a plus: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or vendor-specific such as Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-4 years proven hands-on experience in Network Technician, IT Help Desk or IT Support roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously and effectively with high-level attention to details.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring discretion and confidentiality
- Demonstrates a self-driven and proactive attitude toward learning and professional development
- Highly experienced with Computer Networks, Microsoft 365 environment, Network Domain Services, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint Online, MS Teams, Installation and maintaining Endpoint Security Products
- Identity and Access Management: Experience with services and tools such as Active Directory, Azure Entra, MFA, and Conditional Access
- Remote Desktop Tools: Experience with remote desktop (RDP, TeamViewer, Any Desk, etc.)
- Networking Fundamentals: Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, network protocols, switches, and firewalls
- Cybersecurity Awareness: Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
- Experience with MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune, and cloud computer management is considered a plus
- Ability to travel within the province of AB as needed
- This is an on-site position, as such time in the office in front of a computer is required
- Criminal Record Check, Child Welfare Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required
- Confirmation of COVID Vaccinations is required
- Bondable under requirements
