Pegasus is seeking driven individuals ready to work in partnership with engineers and other business units, who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Pegasus is currently working on the next generation of MIDAS, our ice detection sensors for aviation, and your work will directly contribute to this.

As an Embedded Hardware Co-op, you will join a talented, world-class team, building breakthrough technologies, working on the next generation of aviation systems.

What youll do:

  • Carry out hardware in the loop, regression, and verification tests.
  • Work with the engineering team to develop testing rigs, methods, and capabilities.
  • Develop and test additional hardware capabilities for MIDAS.
  • Work within a fast-paced environment, rigorously developing and applying practical solutions to problems.

Essential Job Functions

  • Carry out testing, documenting results and flagging issues.
  • Electrical and hardware testing, fabrication, and debugging.
  • Assembly of test rigs, including harnessing design and fabrication, and sensor mounts.
  • Automation of testing.
  • Component selection and implementation.
  • Participate in sprint meetings, and provide progress updates, as well as feedback on internal processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics or Electrical Engineering, as part of a coop program. Computer Engineering students with relevant electrical experience and interest will also be considered.
  • Able to work onsite in Edmonton, Alberta.
  • Available for an 8-month work term starting May 2025, or earlier.
  • A desire to grow.
  • Able to work in a multidisciplinary environment, communicating across department lines.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous coop work term experience, and student club experience.
  • Applied embedded (STM32, Arduino, etc.), and Raspberry Pi experience.
  • PCB CAD experience (Altium, KiCad, etc.).
  • Mechanical CAD experience (SolidWorks etc.).
  • Fabrication experience.
  • Oscilloscope and soldering skills.
  • C/C++, Python experience.
