As a Strategic Account Quotations Specialist for the Westlund Division (div. of Emco Corporation), you will be responsible for interacting with national, and strategic, accounts providing RFP/RFQ/RFI responses for Valve Projects, Major Projects, EPCMs, National Construction Accounts and large MRO Opportunities. The position would also have responsibility for interpreting project requirements, creating competitive quotations, and submittal packages. You will provide exceptional customer service required to secure the sale and meet or exceed gross profit targets. In addition, you will negotiate with vendors to obtain the best pricing, delivery, and terms of purchase to ensure optimal order fill rates and high levels of customer satisfaction for project material.
Additional duties will include:
- Interpret complex information including building plans to determine customer requirements and offer solutions that maximize profitability and create high levels of customer satisfaction
- Create accurate and professional quotations packages from customer specifications/drawings using applicable software
- Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with both vendors and customers; expedite orders when required
- Create pricing contracts based on accepted quotation to ensure accurate pricing; create ship to accounts
- Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders and improve upon the process and effectiveness
- Follow up with customers to ensure orders are filled properly and promptly
- Investigate customer and vendor problems, and resolve pricing shortfalls and material returns in a timely manner
- Support the Profit Centre Teams as an expert in the specifics around projects and product information
- Communicate effectively with the Profit Centre Teams to ensure customer expectations in regard to their orders are upheld
- Communicate to the Profit Centre Managers and Credit Departments any changes in a customer's business that might cause a credit risk
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Previous experience in Pipe, Valve, and Fitting industry strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in strategic account management or quotations
- Proven track record in RFP/RFQ/RFI response preparation
- Strong understanding of valve projects, major projects, and EPCM processes
- Excellent negotiation skills with both vendors and customers
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex building plans and technical specifications
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for creating quotations and pricing contracts
- Experience with industry-specific software for quotation and submittal package creation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of national construction accounts and MRO opportunities
- Experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with credit risk assessment in business contexts
Additional Information
Salary Range $50,000 - $65,000 + Profit Sharing, and negotiable with previous experience.
