POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the SRO, the Development Specialist will offer personalized care for individuals, businesses and corporations who give financially to The Calgary Dream Centre. Personifying our hopeful, collaborative, generous, determined core values, this role will think out of the box to provide meaningful connections to all supporters. The Donor Care Specialist will manage gratitude efforts, donors contact for assistance with transactions, and data around donors and donations.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES
Donor Relationship Management:
Maintain and cultivate relationships with donors both existing and potential.
Respond to donor and sponsorship inquiries promptly and professionally.
Ensure donors and sponsors feel valued and appreciated for their contributions.
Identify and engage with key donors, businesses, and corporate sponsors.
Data Management:
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor records database, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
Generate reports and analyze donor data to inform fundraising strategies.
Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information.
Compliance with relevant regulations and donor privacy policies.
Communication, Development and Stewardship
Develop and implement donor communication strategies (gift acknowledgement, impact reports, and newsletters.
Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, donor events and recognition activities.
Identify new funding opportunities for the organization
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
Completion of a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Business communication non-profit Management or Related Field
1-2 years Experience in the charitable non-profit sector, Donor Relationship and Fundraising Experience
CFRE Certification is an asset.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Excellent organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of groups.
Knowledge in preparing reports, and ability to maintain up-to-date files and information.
Ability to meet deadlines, take initiative, multi-task and be innovative.
Ability to work as part of a team.
