As a registered charity and not-for-profit agency, Vanier has been in operation for over 54 years and is funded by the Ontario government. Vanier Children's Mental Wellness mission is to improve the lives of infants, children, and their families through the provision of mental health services based on clinical excellence, collaboration, partnerships, and system leadership. Appointed by the Ontario Government as Lead Agency for Child/Youth Mental Health System Management in London-Middlesex in 2014, Vanier is also accountable for community-wide Child/Youth Mental Health system planning.
Position Summary:
The Data Quality Administrator ensures Vanier staff and leadership are supported in evidence-based decision-making. The Data Quality Administrator reports to the Lead Agency Supervisor and works with the Quality and Strategy team to support agency- and region-wide program delivery and strategic planning by optimizing the quality of data entered by clinical staff into databases and then extracted for report generation and decision making. As an expert in agency data retrieval and cleaning, the Data Quality Administrator generates regular reports as mandated by program funders including the Ontario Ministry of Health and accreditation bodies. This position supports Vanier staff with platform training for quality data input, assists with the creation of both quality improvement and project-specific surveys, and ensures stakeholder data interpretability and informed data use through data visualization.
Job Duties:
- Assist leadership with analysis of complex datasets, and visualizations
- Regular audits to support ongoing quality assurance and improvements related to data, with ability to identify and flag anomalies.
- Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as per funding mandates and keeps an accurate and up-to-date record of report generation processes.
- Creates ad hoc reports that inform agency and system-wide decision making.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently but can also work effectively with project teams to identify data and information needs.
- Responsible for the design and development of data visualizations and dashboards specific to various audiences using data sets from various sources.
- Assists in ensuring database quality for Vanier and London-Middlesex child/youth mental health service agencies by identifying data gaps and errors.
- Implements and records processes related to the monitoring and auditing of data to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Supports the training and validation of new staff with data quality and inputting across platforms.
- Responds to ad hoc staff and leadership data requests.
- Participates in projects to support business expansion as required.
- Flexibility to work to meet data demands.
Education/Training/Experience:
Required
- Post-secondary education in computer science, statistics, or related field
- Advanced skills in Excel, BI & Analytics Platform, data visualization
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Experience in working with database test environments
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Evidence of life-long learning
- Police Check is required
Preferred
- Working knowledge of EMHware and Greenspace platforms
- Working knowledge of project management, performance measurement, program evaluation, and quality assurance
- Two years of experience in data quality
- SQL proficiency
- Familiarity with the childrens mental health sector
- Lean Six Sigma training
- Fluency in French is an asset
License/Certification:
- Driving License (preferred) and access to a reliable vehicle.
Hours of work:
- 35 hours a week, on-site.
- Required flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work as required.
