Salary: $65,000 - $75,000/year

Position Summary:

The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating communications and engagement initiatives that support Kinsights vision to create a world where Everyones welcome. Everyone belongs. Everywhere.

Reporting to the Communications Leader, the Coordinator will develop and implement communication strategies that will raise awareness of Kinsight and strengthen engagement with the families and people supported, partners, community, staff and other stakeholders. This includes creating digital media content, developing promotional materials and newsletters, coordinating Kinsight involvement in community events, supporting employee engagement initiatives, coordinating ongoing brand implementation, and supporting media relations and issues management activities.

Kinsight is an accredited non-profit organization that works alongside families of children, youth and adults with developmental delays or disabilities to support growth, development and personal well-being. Our teams support the communities of New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra, and surrounding communities. Together we work to foster vibrant and healthy communities by creating opportunities for neighbours and organizations to work with and welcome all people. Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 4-year degree from a university of recognized standing in a field related to Communications or Marketing - consideration may be given to qualifications and combined experience being deemed equivalent;
  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends to support community events (flextime)

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-years experience in communications or related field
  • Experience in social media, including scheduling and writing content, sourcing visual assets, collaborating with content providers and researching and recommending new platforms
  • Experience in maintaining, updating and growing website content
  • Experience with email campaign programs, including writing, designing and producing e-newsletters and promotions
  • Experience planning and executing events setting and adhering to event budgets, coordinating and briefing volunteers, supporting presenters, gathering/creating materials, and evaluating success, liaising with vendors, booking venues, assessing technology requirements, and trouble shooting
  • Experience with video production is an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to a collaborative teamwork style with excellent relationship management skills
  • Experience coordinating, implementing and evaluating communications, marketing and public relations strategies

Skills Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including storytelling across multiple platforms with diverse audiences
  • Knowledge of graphic design programs such as Adobe or Canva
  • Ability to behave in an ethical and discrete manner including ensuring appropriate confidentiality of materials and information

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary
